Kraken Abyss: Twin Water Softeners & Whole-House Filtration
Kraken Abyss pairs twin-alternating water softeners with whole-house carbon filtration for larger San Diego County homes and demanding water use.
Soft water through regeneration
In a twin-alternating design, one softener supplies the home while the other regenerates or stands by. This supports softened-water availability during regeneration when the system is sized and configured correctly. Carbon filtration addresses disinfectant taste and odor; it performs a different job from the softeners.
Six or more bathrooms is a starting guide, not a final calculation. Steve checks incoming hardness, peak flow, household use, pressure, pipe size, drain access and installation space before recommending capacity. A large home does not automatically need the same equipment as another large home.
Plan the installation around the property
The proposal identifies treatment stages, plumbing, accessible bypasses, drain routing and service clearances. Sediment protection, kitchen RO, automatic leak shutoff, trenching and enclosures should be confirmed in the written scope rather than assumed included.
Service and support
Maintenance includes salt checks, brine-tank condition, regeneration settings, valve operation and treated-water hardness. Carbon and any additional filters have their own service needs. Abyss includes a 3-year parts and service warranty; review the written coverage and terms for your installation.
